Orphaned, Speed is a "Typical American boy" who looks upon crime as the height of weakness and cowardice. Barney Dunlap, is his none-too-bright sidekick who helps out, with his favorite expression being, "Suffering Whang-Doodles!" "The Octopus" gang, whom nobody has ever seen, has struck again. The syndication company might be National Radio Attraction-Hollywood Recorded Features. Speed captures "Blackie," the first member of the Octopus gang ever caught. Programs numbered 1 to 100 are about the battle against the evil "Octopus," titled as above. Episode #101 to 178 is titled, "The Atlantian Expedition." The program was usually aired 3 times a week, sometimes 4 times a week (for example: KROW, Oakland/San Francisco); it's possible that some stations ran the show 5 times a week. Not every performer listed below was heard on every episode. The date above is the date of the first known broadcast of episode #1. The subsequent episodes were broadcast on a schedule set by each station locally, so exact broadcast dates are not given.
